Tiffany & Co. unveils new boutique-museum in Montenapoleone A new star in the firmament of the Fashion Quadrilateral

Tiffany & Co. has inaugurated its new flagship store in Milan, choosing the prestigious Palazzo Taverna on Via Monte Napoleone as its location. This new space is not only the largest Tiffany boutique in Europe, with an area exceeding 1,200 square meters, but also a tangible symbol of the Maison's commitment to excellence, culture, and customer experience. The boutique is the result of a far-reaching architectural and curatorial project, skillfully blending the historical refinement of the neoclassical palace, dating back to 1835, with the brand’s contemporary aesthetic. The building has been reinterpreted by architect Peter Marino, renowned for his ability to combine art, functionality, and brand identity. The store’s façade harmonizes perfectly with the original architectural elegance of the palace, while also introducing elements of strong symbolic character. The large arched windows were created by the legendary Venini glassworks in Murano, one of the finest examples of Venetian craftsmanship, with lunettes inspired by an original design from the great Italian architect and designer Gio Ponti. Their intricate structure echoes the famous glass creations of Louis Comfort Tiffany, paying homage to both the American tradition of the Maison and the Italian creative genius. The store’s exterior showcases, on the other hand, are inspired by the works of Michelangelo Pistoletto and testify to the long-standing relationship between Tiffany & Co. and the art world, while also celebrating Milan’s cultural centrality on the international scene.

Inside, the visitor experience is designed to go far beyond mere shopping. The entrance is dominated by Color and Light, a work by Michelangelo Pistoletto, welcoming clients into a refined space characterized by warm beige and blush pink marble walls. The atmosphere is further enhanced by the presence of a sculptural glass staircase, designed by Peter Marino and engineered by Hugh Dutton’s studio. The staircase, which visually symbolizes the cut of a diamond, is topped by a skylight that floods the area with natural light, creating dynamic reflections that shift throughout the day. At the heart of the store is a selection of artworks by masters such as Pablo Picasso, Julian Schnabel, Urs Fischer, and Daniel Arsham. The latter is featured with the sculpture Stratified Venus of Arles, located in the inner courtyard—a bright, relaxing space also featuring a bar. Here, art is not just decorative, but becomes an integral part of the experience, transforming the store into a true contemporary gallery. The displayed collections reflect the breadth and depth of Tiffany’s offering. Visitors can admire iconic creations such as Lock by Tiffany, T by Tiffany, HardWear, and Knot, exhibited in sophisticated settings that enhance the brand’s craftsmanship and design. There is also a dedicated space for Elsa Peretti, the revolutionary designer whose style profoundly shaped the Maison’s visual identity. In the High Jewelry Gallery, satin glass showcases display Tiffany’s most precious pieces, while a nearby private suite features Tiffanies & Tiffany, an installation by Urs Fischer exploring the relationship between women and jewelry art.
