Sabato De Sarno supports young designers with two scholarships Sabato De Sarno and IED Florence turn creative vocation into professional opportunity

Sabato De Sarno supports education at IED Florence through two scholarships dedicated to the First Level Academic Diploma (DAPL) in Fashion Design, helping to broaden access to the program and enhance the most deserving profiles. The initiative stems from the desire to offer real opportunities and support to aspiring designers during their training phase, creating the conditions for a vocation to turn into a profession.
Located in one of the most solid and internationally recognized fashion districts, the course offers an immersive experience in close contact with industrial processes and manufacturing expertise: a three-year path aimed at acquiring technical, design and cultural skills. The program is structured as a professional simulation culminating in the final thesis project. From experimentation to stylistic definition, up to the creation of a collection in the final academic year. The territory becomes a laboratory: from concept to prototype, to the development of a contemporary proposal ready to engage with the market.
«I am grateful to Sabato De Sarno for choosing to support in a concrete way the educational journey of our students: it is a gesture of great value for our academic community», states Benedetta Lenzi, Director of IED Florence. «His contribution represents a significant signal for the entire fashion system. Investing in education means strengthening the supply chain and supporting the development of new creative energies, ready to contribute with vision and expertise to the future of the sector. Florence, in this sense, confirms itself as a privileged context, where manufacturing culture and design experimentation interact daily».
«Choosing to support IED Florence is for me a concrete way of giving back. I deeply believe that talent is not a privilege, but a possibility to be nurtured and protected. Education is the first creative act: it is the place where an intuition can become discipline, craft, vision», says Sabato De Sarno. «These scholarships are born as an act of trust and responsibility: offering access, creating opportunities and allowing a vocation to find its path. Because offering access ultimately means expanding the future».
Thanks to the support of Sabato De Sarno, the two scholarships provide a concrete opportunity to access an academic path aimed at guiding the growth of young designers capable of interpreting the transformations of the contemporary fashion system. In this context, scholarships represent not only an unrepeatable opportunity for students, but also a promise and a model for the fashion landscape and its academic environments. Research, study and practice are thus confirmed as the foundation of fashion design, while the university environment becomes a space for dialogue and experimentation in which to cultivate one’s passion, enrich it with awareness and ultimately communicate oneself and one’s vision of the world.
