Sean Wotherspoon and Vespa announces an upcoming collaboration The founder of Round Two will work on the creation of a Vespa, a helmet and a capsule collection

"I can't wait to dive into the Vespa world to recreate that tradition and re-imagine it through my vision, to make it universal," said Sean Wotherspoon, commenting on the announcement of the upcoming collaboration with the Piaggio Group. Wotherspoon is a legendary personality for streetwear fans. Starting almost from nothing with a strong passion for vintage fashion, he founded with store in Richmond, Round Two, that has now become an influential brand. The final consecration arrived with Nike, especially with the creation of one sneaker, the Air Max 1/97 SW, which has immediately become an icon.

Now Wotherspoon has been tackled to create a limited edition of the Vespa Primavera, a dedicated helmet and a capsule collection of clothing for the brand. The goal of this collaboration, which will bring together the young genius of streetwear with one of the oldest and most important companies in the world of motors, is to bring a large community of young people closer to the brand.

Michele Colaninno, Immsi's managing director and counsellor of Piaggio, also announced that this is the first of a series of collaborations aimed at making the brand more present in the world of design and fashion. Design is also an integral part of Piaggio's DNA, which has founded its fortune, since the very beginning in 1884, on innovative projects for its time. From the futuristic projects of Corradino d'Ascanio, the father of the 60s Vespa, the Ape and the Ciao, up to the Sfera, one of the first scooters with plastic bodywork, and the foundation in 2013 of the Piaggio Advanced Design Center in Pasadena. "It could only happen in California, where new trends are born that influence lifestyle around the world", says Colannino.

Sean Wotherspoon has imagined a bold and fun style for the new look of the Vespa, that wants to communicate all the greatness of the myth of Piaggio to young people and update the aesthetics of the iconic motorcycle by re-interpreting it in a contemporary key. "If I think of the incredible story and the unique tradition of Vespa and Piaggio I can only be really excited to start this first collaboration with these brands," adds the designer.

The collaboration will be officially unveiled at EICMA 2019, the most important fair in the world of motorcycling, taking place in Milan next November 7 - 10. The final products, on the other hand, will arrive on the market during Spring 2020
