Apple unveils the next generation of Apple Intelligence Siri AI and software upgrades make the Apple experience more Complete than ever

On the occasion of the Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple unveiled a preview of its upcoming software releases, which will include the latest generation of Apple Intelligence and introduce Siri AI, a completely redesigned version of Siri that is significantly smarter, more capable, and equipped with broader knowledge. These releases also introduce new powerful and intuitive features that help parents create safe digital experiences for children, alongside improvements that enhance the design and performance of Apple products, making them more responsive, enjoyable, and easier to use.
With Apple Intelligence comes Siri AI
Powered by a new architecture specifically designed to protect user privacy, the latest generation of Apple Intelligence enables Siri AI and useful new features across the apps users rely on every day. A virtual assistant that is far more capable and natural in conversation, it understands personal context, possesses extensive world knowledge, and can interpret what appears on screen. Siri AI can help users find what they need instantly, drawing from the web to answer questions on virtually any topic or retrieving relevant information from personal content such as messages, emails, photos, and much more.
Siri AI also includes a dedicated app that allows users to continue conversations seamlessly across all their devices, an enhanced visual intelligence experience, and integrated writing tools. In addition, this new feature can be used anywhere on iPhone, Apple Watch, CarPlay, and AirPods, making Siri AI a valuable everyday tool perfectly aligned with each user’s needs.
Beyond introducing Siri AI, the latest generation of Apple Intelligence enables remarkable new features across system apps designed to simplify everyday tasks, from editing images in Photos and navigating Safari tabs to expressing creativity with Image Playground and communicating through Messages and Mail.
Powerful AI features in everyday experiences
The latest generation of Apple Intelligence introduces a new architecture built on Apple Foundation Models, designed to integrate artificial intelligence directly into the Apple ecosystem while ensuring the highest level of privacy protection. This makes everyday applications smarter, more personal, and more intuitive, thanks to the introduction of the new version of Siri AI, capable of understanding information contained in messages, emails, photos, and apps, as well as performing complex actions at the user’s request.
The Photos app introduces advanced tools such as Spatial Reframing, which allows users to adjust the perspective of a photo after it has been taken, Extend for expanding images, and an improved version of Clean Up for removing unwanted elements with more realistic results. Safari becomes smarter thanks to automatic tab organization by topic, notifications for webpage updates, and the ability to create custom extensions simply by describing them.
The Passwords app also evolves by automatically correcting and updating compromised credentials. Image Playground takes a major leap forward, enabling photorealistic image generation and intuitive image editing through text prompts. Messages, Mail, Phone, and Calendar leverage AI to provide contextual suggestions, retrieve relevant information, and automate organizational tasks. Shortcuts become more accessible thanks to natural language creation, while the Home app uses artificial intelligence to interpret notifications, describe videos, and make searching through camera footage easier.
The new parental controls
New powerful, intuitive, and easy-to-use features are arriving to help parents manage the content their children can view, the people they can interact with, and the times when they can access apps. By setting up a child account, parents can immediately enable age-appropriate protections across the entire system and, through Setup Assistant, choose exactly which apps are available while monitoring those added over time. Thanks to communication safety features, parents can require approval for every new contact added by their children and set automatic interventions if explicit or violent content is shared.
In addition, recommended daily screen time limits based on guidance from clinical and child development experts are displayed, providing parents with a useful starting point. Schedules allow parents to manage which apps their children can access at different times of the day, while Screen Time features a completely redesigned interface that is more intuitive for parents and allows them to view at a glance their children’s average device usage and most frequently used apps.
“Apple products are an essential part of people’s lives, and this year we are introducing powerful new features to help users in even more ways,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, confirming how Apple products continue to make the user experience increasingly optimized, integrated, and complete.
