Salotto Retori opens in Milan: a space where art and fashion converge Rachid brings to life a hybrid venue in the heart of the Quadrilatero della Moda

On the occasion of Milan Fashion Week, Salma Rachid chooses Via della Spiga, the heart of the Quadrilatero della Moda, to open Salotto Retori, the brand’s first global flagship store. The store is conceived as a multifunctional space: a place of culture, of the celebration of art, of connection, and of creativity.
The architectural project is designed by Massimo Locatelli, who successfully interpreted and translated RETORI’s aesthetic language into a sophisticated and sensorial space, through an eclectic combination of mid-century elements, Japanese minimalism, and European refinement.
«The Salotto was imagined as a living place of dialogue. It brings together everything we consider essential at RETORI: art, savoir-faire, stories, and the beauty of human connection. It invites visitors to slow down, to feel, to relate not only to garments and objects, but to something deeper within themselves. We created it to offer an experience of wonder, one that can accompany visitors long after they have left the space» states Salma Rachid, Founder and Creative Director of RETORI.
The architectural component layers itself onto the pre-existing structure and the narrative Chapters of RETORI’s collections. The result is an immersive space in which the dialogue between art, fashion, and culture is in constant evolution, expressed through the display of RETORI’s Chapter collections alongside works by the artists who each season inspire and collaborate with Salma Rachid and the creative team. Among them stands out the iconic “studded concrete” wall by Tadao Ando, a central element of the project whose presence imbues the environment with a sense of monumental calm.
«Salotto Retori is a bridge between our artistic vision and our expansion. The opening of our first flagship store on Via della Spiga represents a fundamental milestone, significantly strengthening the bond with our audience and our community, while offering a universe of experiences that express the essence of RETORI, defined by curiosity, authenticity, and conscious luxury» states Zaccheo Manzoni, CEO of RETORI.
Salotto Retori inaugurates its cultural program with an exhibition dedicated to Manuela Navas, titled “Chupim” and curated by Samuele Visentin. The self-taught Brazilian artist contributed to RETORI’s Chapter 03 collection, titled “Sentimento”, in conversation with founder and creative director Salma Rachid and the design team.
“Sentimento”, Chapter 03, is an ode to vulnerability and craftsmanship, balancing structure and lightness, inspired by Navas’ emotional research. The collection moves through tenderness, fragility, and nostalgia via refined silhouettes and a sophisticated elegance marked by nomadic ease. Iconic outerwear, light and draped, invites bodily gesture, offering new interpretations of the RETORI coat. The masculine and feminine smartorial wardrobe reinterprets formal tailoring through a functional lens, pairing linen with workwear references. The palette unfolds in deep navy blues, turquoise, sun-warmed browns, and sage green, echoing the expressive brushstrokes and vibrancy of Navas’ paintings.
Salotto Retori is conceived as a place of cultural resonance and community within Milan’s creative landscape, and its opening consolidates RETORI’s presence in one of the world’s most prestigious fashion districts, positioning Milan as a strategic reference point for the brand’s future growth.
