April 25th, 2025
With the arrival of spring, the tourist season also begins, and travelers from all over the world take advantage of the good weather to visit their favorite destinations in Europe – but which city is the most popular? A recent analysis conducted by Casinova, a company operating in the online gaming sector, examined over twenty European tourist cities with the aim of identifying the most popular destinations for this time of year. The study was based on five main criteria to assess the popularity of destinations: the number of tourists arriving during spring, the volume of online searches related to the city and the concept of spring holidays, the availability of accommodation, the number of events organized between March and April, and finally the density of clubs and bars per urban surface area. Each of these aspects was given a specific weight for the calculation of the overall score, then normalized on a scale from 1 to 100, where 100 represents the most popular city. The analysis revealed that Porto, in Portugal, is the most appreciated destination for spring holidays. The city welcomed around 1,400,000 tourists during the Spring Break period, recorded more than 8.1 million online searches, hosted 176 events, has 42 nightlife venues per ten square kilometers, and offers 56 accommodations within the same area. Right after comes London, visited by a huge number of tourists, as many as 1,863,667, and especially full of events, with 8,030 scheduled between March and April. The city has 51 clubs and bars per ten square kilometers and 8 accommodations in the same area, while the volume of online searches stands at 9,000.
