Ca' del Bosco completes its vineyard estate and winery

Marking the beginning of a new phase in its history

Ca' del Bosco completes its vineyard estate and winery Marking the beginning of a new phase in its history

After 52 harvests, Ca’ del Bosco can finally reveal its ultimate "face," the final one, the one once only dreamed of, and then, over the years, took shape. A long journey that began in 1968 when the first vineyard was planted, and which today unveils itself in its completeness, marking a historic milestone for the company. Today, with a vineyard estate of over 280 hectares spread across 11 out of the 19 municipalities in Franciacorta, Ca’ del Bosco has nearly achieved the planned vineyard surface area goal. A dream, considering that in the '70s and '80s, the managed hectares were only 13. An immensely significant milestone that makes Ca’ del Bosco the guardian of a significant portion of the territory, strictly managed following the certified organic viticulture protocol to protect the soils and the organisms that inhabit them. A business model rooted in the management of its vineyards and completed with a winemaking method that enhances the character of grape varieties and soils. A continuous study of the land to explore the most varied nuances in terms of texture, organic and mineral composition. Significant innovations introduced in the cellar to extract and preserve the potential of the grapes at their best.

The definition of a working method that enhances the uniqueness of each vineyard plot. Fundamental concepts to pursue excellence in wines in the distinctive Ca’ del Bosco style. Years of work that also involved the cellar spaces, redesigned to best enhance the vinification and aging of wines and celebrate them in a series of evocative spaces, with a scenography that allows visitors to stimulate and explore their senses. The structures, designed by Falconi Architettura, with whom Ca’ del Bosco has collaborated since the '90s, are created to harmoniously fit into the surrounding territory and the reference context. A journey that finds its final definition: new spaces for hospitality, the tunnel with the cellars of the Franciacorta Reserves, the cellars in the historic Dome dedicated to the Cuvée Annamaria Clementi, the gallery of pupitres, and the tunnel reserved for aging the Vintage Collection Millesimati. Lastly, the Dome of the Senses preceding the "Prestige Immersion" installation.

A new hospitality facility completed in 2021, distinguished by its symbolic circular shape, with a ring surrounding an oak tree at its center, symbolizing the forest that has always surrounded the Ca’ del Bosco headquarters. The building stands out with its large circular wooden roof, externally covered in Corten steel, connecting common areas, showrooms, and tasting rooms. In the Vintage Collection Tunnel, visitors are guided through the historic spaces of the cellar until they reach the entrance to a vault where the transition between ancient and modern code takes place, emphasized by lighting that recreates a "starry sky" through the holes in the pupitres. A long tunnel anticipates the main feature of the connecting spaces between the various areas: endless perspectives where walls of stacked bottles (from the Vintage Collection) perimeter the path. On the left side, you can admire the Ca’ del Bosco Vinoteca, which is the historical collection of wines and Franciacorta produced from 1972 to the present. The Dome of the Senses and Ludoscopio is a circular space with a lowered vault where you can pause to experience a genuine sensory journey.

The scenography, created by artist Andre Guidot of the collective {[(etica)estetica]anestetica}, allows visitors to discover and personally experience the four senses: touch, smell, sight, and hearing. The aim is to stimulate visitors to "listen" to their senses through an immersive, emotional, and equally personal experience as they will have during the wine tasting at the end of the tour. In the center of the Dome of the Senses is the work "Ludoscopio" by Paolo Scirpa, a master of immaterial art: a well of light reflected in an infinite bottom. Finally, in Prestige Immersion, you are immersed in the most dramatic of the set-up spaces: a gigantic upside-down bottle, made with over 33,000 empty and backlit Cuvée Prestige bottles... an experience to be lived. In the underground section, 23 meters below the ground, an opening allows you to admire the new aging area for Cuvée Prestige, which can accommodate up to 4 million bottles. The journey continues through an inclined tunnel, with accelerated perspective, guiding the visitor to the historic Barrel Rooms, along a staircase adorned with linear amber lighting, paying homage to some contemporary art masterpieces. The various tour paths are further enriched by a series of background sounds, curated by Sound Designer Riccardo Caspani. This is a significant project born from the desire of Ca’ del Bosco's partners, the Marzotto and Zanella families, who have always believed in the potential of the region, to be enhanced and expressed in excellence in their wines.
