Uniqlo and nss edicola strolling through Porta Portese The project that made the new Uniqlo Bra Tops truly "Romanissime"
Building a summer outfit that is practical, comfortable, and detail-oriented is never easy—especially in the city. Heat, air conditioning, and the need to move between different settings throughout the day require versatile garments that can adapt without compromising on style. This is where the nss edicola x Uniqlo activation comes in—a project designed to show how an apparently simple item like the Bra Top can become a key element of a conscious urban look. Leading the Roman activation were talents Sara Centola, Giorgia Frank, and Camilla Villoresi, who started their day from nss edicola in Piazza Testaccio and set off through the streets of Rome. At the newsstand, they customized their Bra Tops using the new pins from the “Romanissime” and “Roma 6 Unica” collections—two capsules that reinterpret the aesthetics of the capital with a local and ironic twist. The first part of the experience unfolded in a shared, experimental atmosphere, creating a styling session inspired by the Eternal City. Then came the challenge: with a €20 budget, the talents had to build an outfit starting from the Bra Top, sourcing all the remaining pieces from the stalls at Porta Portese. A perfect setting for this kind of activity, Porta Portese stands out not only as Rome’s most iconic market but also as a symbolic destination for Gen Z. A true temple of thrifting, where personal style is crafted through discovery, intuition, and Roman tradition.
The Uniqlo Bra Top proved to be a versatile piece—it can serve as the base of a look or become its focal point. Its technical features—built-in cups, no underwire, lightweight feel, and adaptable fit—meet everyday practical needs. But its real strength lies in its clean design, which offers endless styling potential depending on who wears it. More than just a styling experiment, the activation became an open-air lab for urban identity and individual creativity. In a city like Rome, where the heat rising from cobblestones calls for light but never obvious solutions, the Bra Top successfully adapted to different styles and personalities, proving to be much more than a summer basic.
