This Fashion Week, tech company NuORDER by Lightspeed and Mandatory, the Trade Event dedicated to fashion and lifestyle in the heart of Copenhagen, celebrated the third edition of their collaboration. Over two days, the two companies showcased to their respective communities and clients a new extension of the fair on the digital platform NuORDER by Lightspeed, a portal dedicated to brands and buyers where real-time interaction will be possible. NuORDER currently supports over 500,000 retailers and more than 4,000 brands worldwide, including Zegna, MCM, Acquazzurra, Isaia, Acne Studios, Maison Alaïa, and many others. Its main goal is to digitize and simplify the entire wholesale process, for a faster, more efficient, and strategic sales experience for both brands and buyers. Founded as a tech company and now part of Lightspeed, NuORDER is designed to support the entire wholesale cycle of a brand, from department stores to independent retailers.

Over the years, NuORDER’s B2B platform has built a dense network of connections and exclusive collaborations with some of the world's leading retailers, such as Saks, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Macy’s, David Jones Australia, as well as NK Stockholm, Neiman Marcus, and Bergdorf Goodman. All of them use NuORDER as their only platform to manage all of their wholesale purchasing. The platform’s versatility allows brands to create digital line sheets, present shoppable catalogs, offer assortment customization, collect orders during trade shows, market appointments, or via email, and monitor sales and performance through integrated dashboards. One of the most appreciated aspects by brands is NuORDER’s ability to eliminate manual processes, reduce data entry errors, and manage inventory and payments in a single centralized environment. For buyers, this means working faster, with greater product visibility and tools that facilitate reordering and offer analysis.

The day after the Mandatory party, on August 6, NuORDER continued the experience with a more intimate gathering: a VIP Lunch at the Babylon Restaurant, also in Copenhagen. The invitation was extended to a select group of key stakeholders, in a more private setting designed to strengthen relationships, discuss future strategies, and explore the use of the NuORDER platform directly with the team. The lunch focused on the dialogue between supply and demand, with a view to the future of trade shows and digital B2B. The elegant and relaxed setting of Babylon helped make the meeting a valuable moment of dialogue, vision, and human connection – rare but necessary ingredients in the world of innovation.

It was possible to speak with some of the buyers present at Babylon Restaurant about the importance of digital spaces for fashion like the NuORDER platform. Alexandra Saunders, from Danish company ILLUM, stated that «the digital platform is important for strengthening relationships, because it supports in the consolidation of your work and the it reduces some of the manual office tasks. So you have more time to invest in your partnerships and with your brands». Thanks to the new tools, the operation becomes more measurable and direct, says Saunders, and «it makes the buying more visual». Paolo Bertacchi, from La Ferramenta, shares the same view on the relevance of artistic vision and storytelling in relationships between buying and brands. «A digital platform like NuORDER helps strengthen these relationships by creating transparency, consistency, and access», says Bertacchi. «A strong B2B marketplace helps us go beyond the obvious, discover emerging designers, or find limited drops and special projects that align with our narrative», he adds.

The efficiency seems to be the most appreciated value among the buyers who have already experienced NuORDER’s platform, such as Agathe Vaissiere from Printemps and Elisa Santandrea from Harvey Nichols and Bloomingdale’s in Dubai. As Vaissiere acknowledges, the main goal for brands today is to «stand out in an increasingly competitive market». With NuORDER, it is possible to achieve greater visibility, a factor that definitely supports both the work of brands, who need to present their designs to a wide audience, and the work of buyers, who are always looking for exciting new items. As for suggestions that could be made to platforms like NuORDER, Estelle Bouvier from Galeries Lafayette says that accessibility could be enhanced with more specific descriptions and presentations. «A small presentation for each brand and getting access to their Instagram could be a new way to discover new, strong brands». NuORDER has in fact launched a dedicated portal, accessible exclusively to trade show participants, where exhibiting brands can continue to present their collections, receive orders, share materials with buyers, and update in real time availability, prices, and delivery dates. In a historical moment where speed and accuracy are crucial, NuORDER’s proposal has proven to be one of the most advanced in the industry.
