Artista, performer, cantante e attivista nata a Tokyo nel 1933, diventa anche stilista. La compagna di John Lennon compirà 80 anni il 18 Febbraio e come regalo, per se e per i suoi fan, terrà un concerto a Berlino il 17 febbraio, in un posto che ama, il Volksbühne, da sempre casa delle avanguardie. "Sono in piena attività e ho talmente tanti programmi da portare a termine che sarò occupata per l'intero anno" afferma Yoko, l'artista, a quanto pare, è la reginetta dei social network, in particolar modo, su twitter ha raggiunto più di tre milioni di followers. La carismatica giapponesina si lancia anche nel mondo della moda, la sua prima linea d’abbigliamento maschile si chiama “Fashion for men: 1969-2012” ed è composta da 52 capi che prendono ispirazione da una serie di bozzetti che Yoko Ono regalò a John Lennon nel 1969 come regalo di nozze. La linea creata altro non è che la trasposizione in stoffa degli abiti che sarebbero stati bene addosso a John Lennon, al suo “hot body”, come lei l’ha definito. La collezione sarà distribuita da Opening Ceremony, i capi sono in vendita sullo store on line dall'azienda statunitense. Tra le varie e divertenti proposte troviamo i pantaloni con una finta coda di leone attaccata sul di dietro e la "romantica" maglia con i buchi all'altezza dei capezzoli ("Li ho pensati per infilarci dentro il gambo dei fiori" ha detto lei al New York Times). La moda pensata da Yoko sembra rispecchiare la sua visione del mondo e lei come sempre, nonostante l'età, è abituata a guardare oltre.
