In your shoes - Luca Curci design

“La qualità della nostra vita è fortemente influenzata dalla qualità delle architetture in cui viviamo e che ci circondano” 

Questo è quello che cita la presentazione dell’architetto, video artista e mente delle piattaforme web Its Liquid e Art expo conosciute a livello mondiale. Lui è Luca Curci che oggi a “in Your shoes” si racconta e ci parla di arte, moda e design.

 

1) Chi è davvero Luca Curci ?

Luca Curci è un artista, architetto e designer italiano. Il mio lavoro artistico racconta le ibridazioni tra luogo ed identità attraverso la video arte, la performance e la realtà virtuale. La mia ricerca sul tema dell’identità fisica, sociale, religiosa, urbana, da anni è la rappresentazione di Luca Curci. Il cambiamento, la velocità di trasformazione. Lavoro nel campo dell’architettura con la stessa attitudine. Spostando l’attenzione non sull’equilibrio della forma, ma su nuovi scenari che possano rappresentare stimoli, variazioni. Cromatiche, ma anche sensoriali. In campo artistico la fotografia ed il video, accanto alla realtà virtuale, hanno rappresentato per me, negli ultimi anni, canali espressivi fondamentali alla rappresentazione di città liquide ed identità ibride in continua evoluzione.

2) Quali sono stati tuoi maggiori successi raggiunti ?    

Provare l’emozione di raggiungere un obiettivo per me è un successo. Stupirmi è un desiderio continuo. Una tra le mie  soddisfazioni più grandi  è stato il Progetto Video Still.Alone che ha coinvolto 27 artisti provenienti da Canada, USA, Argentina, Brasile, Belgio, Germania, Francia, Italia, Grecia, Cipro, Indonesia. Un progetto che è stato portato avanti per più di un anno e alla quale sono state dedicate centinaia di mail e forum ; Un altro progetto è stato E- Human un video, che unisce alla tecnologia (macchina) al sentimento espresso (senso umano). La conclusione è che la macchina è ancora e sempre sarà spesso uno strumento indispensabile, e che l'uomo è e sarà sempre il motore in funzione la macchina. Questo progetto video è stato presentato in molti paesi come: Pembroke (North Carolina), Nizza, New York, Parigi, Kortrijk (Belgio), Mosca. Videogame in cinque DVD e mostrato nelle principali città europee, un progetto video scritto e diretto da me con le musiche del famoso dj e produttore internazionale Stefano Greppi; ancora, la trilogia video “Impossible” (“Impossible Language”, “Impossible Love”, “Impossible Garden”) realizzata tra il 2004 ed il 2006 e presentata al CCCB (Centro di Cultura Contemporanea di Barcellona), ed al NCCA (Centro Nazionale di Arte Contemporanea) di Mosca e  “The Empire of R-evolution” dopo cinque anni di lavoro ho deciso di rivelarmi attraverso un video enigmatico, fatto di significati evidenti e nascosti e presentato in anteprima in occasione della 54. Biennale di Venezia.

3)Parlaci di Its Liquid, più che piattaforma un progetto d’arte a 360°

Dopo qualche anno trascorso tra Roma, Madrid e Londra ad organizzare eventi artistici con il gruppo di International ArtExpo (fondato da me nel 2001 e con il quale ho realizzato fino ad oggi più di 60 eventi in tutto il mondo, nasce nel 2004 Its Liquid Group, ufficio stampa internazionale dedicato alla divulgazione di eventi legati all’arte, architettura e design. Oggi It’s LIQUID ha più di 80.000 iscritti alla mailing list, due nuove sezioni DESIGN e FASHION, oltre quella dedicata alle COMPETITIONS, tra le quali ricordo “It’s LIQUID Contest - Second Edition 2012” concorso internazionale di pittura, scultura, fotografia, architettura, design, moda che sarà lanciato il 14 dicembre 2012. 

4)Sappiamo che da pochi mesi è nelle  tue grazie anche il settore del Fashion, In che modo hai deciso di sviluppare tale tematica? E come mai?

Il mondo della moda mi affascina. In maniera particolare il design legato al fashion. La creazione di oggetti unici, la creazione di collezioni legate alla sperimentazione, tutto questo per me è architettura progettata per un corpo, come lo sono le abitazioni per una città, le città per un territorio.

5) Una delle tue passioni è viaggiare, ma soprattutto viaggiare per lavoro, Quale paese pensi ti abbia dato maggior riscontro dal punto di vista artistico e perché ?

I paesi del medio oriente, mi sembrano molto aperti alla contemporaneità in arte, architettura e design.

6) I tuoi Top : Pittore, scultore, architetto, video artista e fashion designer preferiti?

Zaha Hadid per l’ architettura, Maurizio Cattelan per l’ arte contemporanea, Karl Lagerfeld e Jean Paul Gaultier come fashion design.

He is Luca Curci and today at "In Your Shoes" tells with us about art, fashion and design.

1) Who is truly Luca Curci?

Luca Curci  is an Italian artist, architect and designer. My artworks tells the hybridization between place and identity through video art, performance, and virtual reality. My research is based on themes of physical identity, social, religious, urban, is the representation of  the years above, of Luca Curci's works ,(www.lucacurci.com). The change, the speed of processing. Work in architecture with the same attitude. Shifting the focus not on the balance of form, but on new scenarios that can present stimuli, changes. Color, but also sensory. In the field of art photography and video, in addition to virtual reality, have been for me, in recent years, channels of expression fundamental to the representation of city cash and hybrid identities in constant evolution.

2) What have been your biggest successes?

Experience the thrill of reaching a goal for me is a success. Amaze me is a continuous desire.

One of my greatest satisfactions was Project Video Still.Alone involving 27 artists from Canada, USA, Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Indonesia. A project that has been carried out for more than a year and which have been dedicated hundreds of emails and forums; Another project was "E-HUMAN" video, uses machine (technology) to express feeling (the human sense). Their conclusion Is that the machine is still and always will be an indispensable tool Often, And that man is and always will be the motor running this machine.

This video project was presented in many countries such as: Pembroke (North Carolina), Nice, New York, Paris,. Kortrijk (Belgium), Moscow. The video (4:29 min | DVD PAL | published in five numbered copies), written and directed by Luca Curci, will be shown in a number of European cities. Music by Stefano Greppi, dj and international producerancora, the trilogy video “Impossible”  ("Impossible Language", "Impossible Love", "Impossible Garden") made between 2004 and 2006 and presented to the CCCB (Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona ), and the NCCA (National Centre of Contemporary Art) in Moscow and "the Empire of R-evolution" after five years of work I decided to reveal through a video enigmatic fact of obvious and hidden meanings and premiered at the 54. Venice Biennale.

3) Talk about Its Liquid, more than a platform art project at 360°.

After a few years spent between Rome, Madrid and London to organize artistic events, with the group of International ArtExpo (founded by me in 2001 and with it I realized up to now more than 60 events around the world. In 2004 after Its Liquid Group, an international press office dedicated to the dissemination of events related to art, architecture and design. Today Its Liquid has more than 80,000 members of the list, two new sections DESIGN and FASHION, as well as one dedicated to the COMPETITIONS, including recall "It's LIQUID Contest - Second Edition 2012" international painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, design fashion which will be launched on 14 December 2012.

4) How did you decide to develop this theme? Explain it about that.

The fashion world fascinates me. In a particular design-related fashion. The creation of unique objects, collections related to experimentation, for me this is the whole architecture designed for a body, as are the houses for a city and the city for an area.

5) One of your passions is traveling, but also travel for work, Which country do you think has given greater recognition from the artistic point of view and why?

The countries of the Middle East, seem very opened to modernity in art, architecture and design.
