Here’s what happened at the 37th edition of “080 Barcelona Fashion” Barcelona becomes a place for strategic reflection on the fashion system
The 37th edition of “080 Barcelona Fashion” has just come to a close, held at Port Vell from April 14 to 17, confirming itself as an international platform capable of bringing together local creativity and a global vision. The event hosted 26 runway shows, featuring established brands such as Custo Barcelona, Dominnico, Simorra and Escorpion, alongside new entries like Adolfo Domínguez and international labels including Nazzal Studio and David Catalan. Within this context, the event strengthens its positioning as a creative hub capable of encompassing diverse languages and emerging generations. Alongside the runway shows, the Open Area was transformed into a space accessible to the public, featuring live screenings and side activities, expanding the experience beyond the traditional runway format.
The 080 Spot Spain Gallery also played a central role, serving as a platform that promotes independent design through talks, workshops and pop-ups, fostering dialogue between brands and audiences. Among the themes explored were styling as a tool for identity construction and visual storytelling, as well as experimental practices such as biomaterials and illustration. At the same time, the 080 Beyond Crafts project shed light on the relationship between contemporary craftsmanship and fashion, focusing on the accessory as both a conceptual and technical object. OFF initiatives such as Brands – Up Close and the European designers summit further consolidate the role of Barcelona as a place for strategic reflection on the fashion system. The entire platform thus emerges as a dynamic space of cultural production, where sustainability, diversity and innovation become structural elements of the contemporary discourse on fashion.
