Will Simone Bellotti leave Bally? Even today, a new rumour for the fashion industry

The urn with the names of the creative directors continues to spin, drawing names and predictions day by day. In recent hours, a new rumor has started circulating among industry insiders gathered in Paris for the Fashion Week FW25 Men: Simone Bellotti, design director at Bally since May 2023, is rumored to be leaving the brand to head to Jil Sander, replacing Luke and Lucie Meier (who themselves might take up the role at Loewe). Although these are just rumours not confirmed by the companies or the designers, the potential moves are stirring excitement in Paris during these Fashion Week days. Bellotti, who has received widespread praise from the industry for his Bally collections, is currently preparing the brand's next show, scheduled for next month at the Milan Women's Fashion Week. Following the trend involving various luxury brands, it will be a co-ed show.

The rumours about Bellotti's departure from Bally are somewhat well-founded: the Swiss brand was sold last August to the Californian investment firm Regent Lp in response to a challenging period for the company. Consequently, the company has initiated a radical transformation process: CEO Nicolas Girotto, who appointed Bellotti as artistic director after Rhuigi Villaseñor, has stepped down, and in December, Bally closed a leather goods factory in Tuscany. It is said that after the FW25 Jil Sander show, also scheduled for February, the departure of the brand's creative directors Luke and Lucie Meier will be announced, a piece of news that will finally set in motion the major reshuffle that has so far only been speculation. Alongside Bellotti, some industry insiders suggest that one of the main candidates for the role of creative director at the OTB-owned brand could be Daniel Lee, who might soon leave Burberry's ateliers. Whatever happens, we are confident that Bellotti's work at Bally will leave a mark even next February, thanks to the creative director's focus on authentic designs that perfectly balance the brand's Swiss heritage with contemporary elegance, characterised by artistic references and sculptural silhouettes.
