According to Hawking soon some artificial intelligences will go to war with humans to prevail and thus conquer the domain of the species. The new techniques of genetic engineering could also lead to the birth of a new species of "superhumans" that would supplant our own. In the next millennium, Hawking says, it is highly probable that a nuclear war or an environmental disaster will "paralyze our planet", generating extinction. Happy, peaceful dreams!
