The Apocalyptic Sound of LEÏTI and the Zowi

The artist's second episode reflects on the meaning of the Apocalypse

The Apocalyptic Sound of LEÏTI and the Zowi The artist's second episode reflects on the meaning of the Apocalypse

Following the release of Mandanga, the rising star of the underground scene Leïti Sène presents the second edition of his mixtape APOCALIPSI. This second installment consists of 7 tracks, including the single Apocalipsi in collaboration with none other than La Zowi. «The challenge was to find a balance between the apocalyptic and the elegant and to create a new aesthetic line, just as the project required: apocalyptic art. Without forgetting the rhythm and movement that preceded and characterized our last music videos with Leïti, we begin our series of short feature films that force us to add new codes and methods of cinema», comments director Jordi Lops.

The track exudes Afrobeat, Amapiano, and dancehall vibes, which, as LEÏTI has already explained, are part of this shift in register with which he tries to create his sound. This year has been very successful for the artist both personally and professionally - in addition to releasing his mixtape, he has had the opportunity to play festivals such as Rolling Loud, Mad Cool, Cruïlla, Riverland, and Holika. «Apocalipsi with La Zowi is the second release and is basically the smoothest part of the album, which is a bit for all types of audiences. It's the first track we recorded during our trip to the United States and it basically defines the name of the album and the whole concept», Leïti said. «Apocalypsis has the meaning of revelation - it does not mean the end of the world, but the moment when people realize all the deceptions they have experienced through crises and disasters», he concluded. The single is also accompanied by a video, co-directed and co-written by LEÏTI himself, with styling by Sita Abellán. In addition to the artist, Artasans also directed, while icard Such, jordilops and puxxo handled the subject matter.
