The Italian Government, in collaboration with Emirates Team New Zealand and the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, has officially announced Naples as the Host City of the 38th edition of the America’s Cup, set to take place between spring and summer 2027.

This marks a historic moment: for the very first time, both the Louis Vuitton Cup and the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Match will be held in Italy, a country with one of the most passionate and long-standing traditions in the history of the world’s oldest sailing competition. In 2027, the eyes of the world will turn to Naples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, chosen as the ideal stage for this global event.

The races of the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup will take place along the coastline of Naples, in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, within a setting that merges urban energy, Mediterranean landscape, and historical stratification. Naples will offer a unique experience, capable of amplifying the myth, competition, passion, and innovation that have always defined the America’s Cup. The Italian bid placed at its core the idea of using the competition as a lever to modernize urban infrastructure, while respecting historical memory and bringing the spectacle of AC75 racing closer to a broader audience.

The selection of Italy, and Naples in particular, as host of the 38th edition of the America’s Cup represents an extraordinary opportunity for the entire Nation to enhance, develop and grow the host territory, with our commitment to extend these benefits by promoting initiatives, projects, and measures in support of maritime education and the blue economy. [...] The America’s Cup in Naples also represents a strategic opportunity to accelerate the environmental remediation and urban regeneration program of Bagnoli, an area that will host the challenger teams’ bases. All of this will take place in a unique and fascinating setting, rich in meaning and suggestion—a first for our Nation that will make Italians proud. Once again, through sport, Italy stands at the center of the world,” declared Minister Andrea Abodi.

Naples’ path as a capital of sport is already defined: in 2026, the city will be named European Capital of Sport, while Italy will host the Milan–Cortina Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. An ideal context to welcome an event that shares with Louis Vuitton an unwavering pursuit of excellence. The long-standing partnership between the Maison and the America’s Cup is rooted in shared values of innovation, craftsmanship, and victory.

Louis Vuitton’s relationship with Naples is deeply intertwined with the city’s Mediterranean culture and identity. The Maison established its presence in Naples in 1993 with the opening of its first store on Via Calabritto, marking a milestone in Louis Vuitton’s expansion in Southern Italy. For the first time, the letter “V” will become the official logo of the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup in Naples and of the Louis Vuitton Cup. A symbol of Victory and competitive spirit, the “V” draws inspiration from the graphic signature of Gaston-Louis Vuitton, who made it his distinctive mark. Enriched with navy blue, white, and red, it takes the form of a crest, evoking tradition, recognizability, and triumph, in line with the Maison’s historic belief that Victory travels in Louis Vuitton.

The pride referenced by Minister Abodi is the same pride that lives in the blue of Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli, uniting generations of supporters who do not simply cheer—they believe; they sing with a loyalty that defies reason and geography. #ProudToBeNapoli is more than a slogan. It is a vow. And soon, the world will once again turn its gaze toward Naples, the city set to host the world’s oldest sporting trophy: the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup.

In this context, the America’s Cup and Louis Vuitton find in Naples a natural stage, where sporting spirit becomes symbol and competition transforms into a cultural language. A competition imbued with myth, rivalry, and innovation. In a place where past and present intertwine so effortlessly, the future now calls, adding a new layer of history. It is between sea and myth that the future takes shape, charged with identity, desire, and collective pride.
