The most trending destinations for Easter holidays according to Airbnb Your next trip might be between Northern and Central Italy

Easter is just around the corner and is increasingly confirming itself as the perfect moment to travel and spend quality time with loved ones. According to research conducted by YouGov for Airbnb, around 10.8 million Italians will be travelling during the Easter holidays in 2026.
This trend is confirmed by data from the platform, according to which more than one stay out of two booked for the Easter period involves groups, while more than 30% of searches are made by families. The average length of stays is four nights, confirming how Easter is becoming a spring holiday opportunity that goes beyond the traditional festive lunch, where every moment becomes precious for spending the celebration with loved ones or friends before returning to everyday routines.
Travel choices are mainly driven by the desire for quality time: according to the research, for 70% of Italians spending meaningful moments with loved ones represents a priority, acknowledging how difficult it often is during the year to carve out time for family and friends. It is therefore not surprising that more than 40% of respondents have not spent a few days on holiday with their loved ones since last Christmas, making Easter the first real family gathering of the year.
If on one hand Easter is increasingly synonymous with travel, some elements remain central to Italian traditions: 64% still indicate the classic festive table as one of the most important moments of the celebration, highlighting a strong connection with tradition. At the same time curiosity toward new gastronomic experiences is growing: almost 40% of Italians say they would be willing, at least this year, to set aside the typical dishes of their region in order to discover new recipes and local specialties in other parts of the country.
Travel thus also becomes a way to explore the flavours of the territories visited, transforming the Easter lunch into an experience that combines conviviality and discovery. Among the most searched destinations on the platform for spring are villages, small towns and less crowded locations: Villa del Conte (PD), Assisi (PG), Valtournenche (AO), Massa e Cozzile (PT) and Siziano (PV) are the top five most searched destinations of the season.
Spanning between Northern and Central Italy, these places attract travellers looking for authenticity, local traditions, evocative landscapes and seasonal dishes such as Umbrian cheese bread, Easter pizza and alpine cheese-based mountain specialties. For the occasion, Airbnb presents a selection of accommodations in the most searched locations, designed for those who wish to experience Easter in the spirit of discovery, relaxation and sharing.
