Who are the most influential actors in Italian cinema? Box Office and Best Movie's Power List names the most successful talents of 2023

For twenty-four years, the Italian Cinema Power List has been compiling a ranking of the most prominent industry figures in Italy. Edited by Box Office and Best Movie, two specialised magazines in the sector, the list offers an exclusive look at the national film scene, highlighting the most influential professionals of the year and those who are likely to take centre stage in the months to come. The ranking looks only at professionals of the big screen, chosen on the basis of the results they have achieved in cinemas over the past twelve months. First on the list is Pierfrancesco Favino, box-office star of L'ultima notte di Amore. Recognised by Best Movie for his promotional efforts and his unquestionable skills as a performer. Favino is followed by the iconic trio formed by Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo, whose film Il grande giorno this year achieved the highest box office takings, and in third place is Paolo Sorrentino, the internationally renowned director who, after the success of È stata la mano di Dio(2021), this summer returned to Naples to start shooting a new film - about which, for now, very little is known.

In the Box Office and Best Movie rankings, just a step away from the podium are Ficarra and Picone, who with La stranezza have succeeded in showing their versatility in the context of art-house cinema, and then Alessandro Borghi and Luca Marinelli, much loved by the public in Le otto montagne, the film adaptation of Paolo Cognetti's novel that won the jury's prize at the 75th Cannes Film Festival and four David di Donatello awards. The list is completed by names such as Toni Servillo, Nanni Moretti, Antonio Albanese, Fabio De Luigi, Marco Bellocchio, Riccardo Milani, Alessandro Siani, Me against You, Paolo Genovese, Gianni Amelio, Luca Guadagnino, Edoardo Leo, Paola Cortellesi, Paolo Virzì, Mario Martone, Pupi Avati, Matteo Garrone, Barbara Ronchi, Giulia Steigerwalt and Valerio Mastandrea.
