5 things to do in Milan this weekend August 5 to 7

For survivors in the city, hope is not lost. There is, after all, not only Southern Italy as a place from which to post IG stories soaking in the green waters of some cove that looks like something out of a Jacquemus campaign. Still, the trick remains to face the heat, stay active, and keep exploring the city - perhaps blissing in the absence, for once, of the suffocating crowds, the long lines, the always busy tables at the bar. So don't give up and get busy this weekend - your courage will be well rewarded.

So here are the 5 things to do in Milan this weekend.

To Eat – Lob’s Restaurant

You know those American diners, usually found in Maine or on the more civilized stretches of the Jersey shore? Their format has been replicated in the Solari area of Milan, with a truckload of lobster dishes that will make you feel like you're at the beach even if you're tragically far from it. The drinks are no joke either so order with largesse.

Via Solari, 34

To Chill – Bar Ristorante Torre @ Fondazione Prada

While you're in town in August, why skimp on the location? Also the place is a restaurant in name and in fact, the bar is a marvel for aperitifs, especially if you stay on the terrace, although the showstopper is the bar that houses two works by Lucio Fontana. Also worth adding is that from Monday La Torre will close for the summer until the end of August so this is your last chance to visit.

Via Lorenzini, 14

To Discover – La Vigna di Leonardo

Perhaps among the most beautiful places in the city, Leonardo's Vineyard is the jewel set in the larger complex of the Casa degli Atellani. The vineyard is a kind of time capsule from the 16th century and the time of Ludovico Il Moro; it is surrounded by ancient architecture, green plants, and a calm that Milan seems to have known since that era.

Corso Magenta, 65

To Club – Void Techno Circus @ Circolo Magnolia

Techno outdoors in Milan. The place is a cult like Magnolia, playing are excellent specialists of the genre. And so Friday night is also assured. Get your tickets in advance!

Via Circonvallazione Idroscalo, 41

To Shop – Fiera di Sinigaglia

In August, in Milan, you can go shopping at La Rinascente or the Saturday Fair. All other imaginable places are closed. Which is a shame if you want to wander around window shopping a bit, even though the stalls at the second-hand fair often hide huge treasures. Seeing is believing.
