Yeezy Season 3 Lookbook & more

A true artist reflects and shapes culture at the same time, is able to work through different social media with an energy we can feel pulsing through every word and every idea. You can negatively judge Kanye West as a celebrity but not as an artist in the broadest sense. Even this time expectations were very high, so as it was the ambition of Kanye to make this show unforgettable.

The show went live-streaming on Jay-z's Tidal platform, so that anyone with an internet connection could watch it for free from home - I personally appreciated Kanye's decision to show more interest in expressing and sharing his ideas compared to earning money.

#Music

At the beginning of the show, before launching the first track of his new album The Life of Pablo, Kanye asked the crowd to dance if they would have appreciated the playlist... and so it was. At the end of the first track the Season 3 was revealed, worn by hundreds of models on a set that recalls the shantytown on the city's suburbs.

#Rules

The more than 200 models had to follow certain rules during the entire show - revealed by Complex's Skylar Bergl on his Twitter profile - like not to look directly to the camera, dont move fast or slow, act natural, stay calm, strong and show pride. The only broken rule was the "no sexy posing", by Naomi Campbell. The iconic model has appeared in a total black look with a long fur coat at the beginning of the show. The models were also able to sit for a minute - never together - taking a break, and since smiling was against the rules, each of them kept a straight face, almost knocked down, while The Life of Pablo continued to act as a soundtrack for the entire duration of the show.

#Collection

If you're wondering how the collection was, we can note that Kanye wanted to create something different from the first two seasons, playing with patterns and colors. The girls wore: sand-colored bodysuits coupled with crop tops with geometric patterns; leggings and tight turtlenecks in the shades of brown, burgundy and black; Short rams turtleneck, slightly oversized; sweaters, skirts and destroyed dresses; longuette tight clothes and laced boots in Balmain style; wide bomber and long suede jackets in the shades of brown and green.

Boys wore instead sweatshirts and baggy pants, fancy jogger pants patterned in the shades of brown, burgundy and hunter green, with flash of bright colours such as yellow - seen on Ian Connor rapper - red and orange. We could also notice the glimpse of some of the shoes produced for this new collection, such as the Boost 1050 waterproof, but during the show also appeared other adidas models like Ultra Boost, the legendary Superstar and the innovative NMD - as Season 1, this new collection will be entirely produced by the German company.

#Family

Contrary to what we had previously predicted, the Kardashian family didn't wear nor Season 2 or 3, but a total white look created especially by Balmain - which contrasted with the collection on show.

In the end Kanye has shared his vision for The Only One video game, coming soon and based on the rise of his mother, Donda West, in paradise - that has been played on the big screen twice and made the crowd go crazy; he then replaced his presidential goals with fashion ones, admitting backstage to Anna Wintour that "becoming Hermès' creative director is my dream.

Apart from the fashion insiders - as Linda Fargo, Virginia Smith, Demna Gvasalia and Anna Wintour - most of the audience was there for the music, and about the album we can only say that this new Kanye is exciting and surprising at the same time.
