The return of The Woolrich Woman collection with Daniëlle Cathari

The return of The Woolrich Woman collection with Daniëlle Cathari The deconstructed Woolrich archive of the Dutch designer

Hidden for 40 years, The Woolrich Woman label is ready to make a comeback thanks to Dutch designer Daniëlle Cathari. Searching among vintage garments and catalogs, Cathari found herself in front of the women's line now out of production and designed for a daily lifestyle. "It is a real honor to have the opportunity to work with such an iconic brand. Shooting “The Woolrich Woman” is something sentimental and personal for me; the way I imagine this woman is given by my experience of becoming a woman. How you feel has to do with what you wear. My goal is to make women feel comfortable, happy and confident in what they wear, wherever they go and whatever they do,” said the designer.

The collection will be only the first chapter of a project dedicated to the female world that will develop over several seasons in which Cathari will infuse her deconstructive philosophy within the heritage of the brand, using it to modernize The Woolrich Woman collection for a new generation of buyers. “We have given Daniëlle Cathari complete freedom to interpret our story. You have added her stylistic signature through a game of deconstruction and reconstruction. In the archival analysis process, you identified a label that had been introduced in the early 1980s when Woolrich began developing women's outerwear. This label expressed the need to create an outdoor wardrobe entirely dedicated to women. With this first collection, Daniëlle was able to add a modern touch to our authenticity, showing the woman of every day, elegant and sporty at the same time”, said the Global Creative Director of Woolrich Andrea Canè.

Divided into several seasons, the first launch of Woolrich by Daniëlle Cathari is set for September 24th for the Fall / Winter 2021 season with outerwear, knitwear and accessories as protagonists.
