Gucci will be part of the next Milan Design Week

With the "Design Ancora" project, from 15 to 21 April

Gucci will be part of the next Milan Design Week With the Design Ancora project, from 15 to 21 April

Fashion Week Women's FW24 has recently ended, beautiful spring days are on the way, and that means only one thing: the countdown to the highly anticipated Milan Design Week has begun. The streets will be packed with people eager to visit installations, art exhibitions, displays and much more, as long as it has to do with art and design. As usual, this edition will also be full of surprises. Among the many, the debut of Gucci by Sabato De Sarno, a project mainly focused on the concept of Italianness and, more specifically, on the soul of the city of Milan. Design Ancora, this is the name of the project, will consist of revisiting five objects belonging to a past era, with the intention of representing their iconicity through a contemporary eye. Design Ancora is an opportunity for Gucci's Creative Director to define what iconicity means where the legacies of the great names of design and brands meet. The golden age of Italian design contributed to the world's recognition of Italian craftsmanship, through craftsmanship and mass reproduction.

For the perfect success of Design Ancora, Sabato De Sarno has selected architect Guillermo Santomà, who will collaborate on this project by bringing into play his internationally-minded vision, trying to combine it with all-Italian style. Santomà designed the space that will house the objects inside the flagship store located on Via Montenapoleone, which will then be on sale on Gucci's website. In the communicative language chosen by De Sarno, color will certainly find its place: the Rosso Ancora chosen by De Sarno for the debut of SS24, which has not been limited to the catwalks, but has invaded the streets and a cult place in Milan such as Bar Basso, later appearing on murals and billboards. Ancora Red is more than just a seasonal trend, and it is about to sweep Milan's Design Week as well.
