The reshuffle of Gucci managers who will restructure the brand's operations over the next year continues. As the long-awaited runway debut of creative director Sabato de Sarno approaches, Gucci has made a significant announcement: Alessio Vannetti is returning to the brand as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer, a position that will take effect Sept. 4. After De Sarno, Kering has thus brought to its flagship Maison another top official from Valentino - brand of which it acquired 30 percent earlier this summer. Alessio Vannetti's name may sound familiar to those who have followed Gucci's journey closely in recent years since he served as Gucci's Director of Global Communications from 2015 to 2019, where his strategic insights and brand expertise contributed significantly to the brand's growth and global prominence. In the period that followed, Vannetti further honed his skills during a three-and-a-half-year tenure as Chief Brand Officer at Valentino, where he worked closely collaborated with Pierpaolo Piccioli, who, today, thanked him on Instagram with a dedicated post.

Vannetti's return to Gucci marks an important transition, as she assumes the responsibilities previously held by Susan Chokachi, who devoted 25 very long years of service to the company. Her most recent role was Executive Vice President and Chief Brand and Client Officer. Her departure, undoubtedly significant, seems indeed to mark the beginning of a new era for Gucci. In his new role, Vannetti will determine the engagement strategy for the brand and its clientele, take strategic direction of the company's image, marketing, communications, and even the business the brand has developed in the metaverse. Vannetti will report to Jean-François Palus, the brand's interim CEO. Palus praised Vannetti's extensive experience in the fashion industry and his deep understanding of Gucci's legacy, stressing that Vannetti will work closely with him, Sabato de Sarno and the entire team to bring the brand's new era to life.
