The school tribes in the SS24 of PDF by Domenico Formichetti

After its debut last January, PDF by Domenico Formichetti is back with the SS24 collection. Inspired by his youth and the characters who countered to shape his creative identity, PDF aims to challenge the stereotypes of different school groups, combining cuts and proportions in a mix of styles that cross different eras. Oversized 90s basketball pants and 80s-style ripped jeans represent the designer's approach to exploring popular culture with a fresh look.

In telling about his collection, Formichetti revealed that he was inspired by movies that portrayed high school teenagers and their different styles and personalities. Based on this suggestion, the designer created what would be an ideal group of classmates for him, mixing unique characteristics and qualities incorporated into the collection. With the community as the central focus, PDF's SS24 involved a group of innovators who inspired the brand: such as Italian wakeboards champion Nicolo Caimi, who wears some garments made in collaboration with brands specializing in extreme sports apparel such as CAPiTA, Union Binding Co, and RefrigiWear. Collaboration with print specialist and designer Andrea Grossi has led to unique key styles, following his recent partnerships with Diesel and Kara.

PDF offers an unconventional perspective on streetwear, inspired by Formichetti's passion for extreme sports. Exaggerated proportions and aesthetics influenced by technical surf and snowboard apparel give the collection a playful energy and vintage appeal. PDF collaborates with high-tech Italian manufacturers and a diverse creative network to present dynamic and innovative collections.
