First pics of the new Stone Island flagship store in Milan

We were in attendance when the doors to the brand new Stone Island flagship opened yesterday morning in Milan and what an impressive sight it was. First impressions are given to the bush-hammered stone floors and ceilings, which are interspersed with painted metallic mesh surface treatments. The modular shelves for the presentation of the garments are in mirror anthracite and covered with a fine black felt. Furnishings and details in compressed yellow or natural felt are enhanced by the finest levels of craftsmanship and give the whole space a very clean industrial design look. Spread across two floors, the complete Stone collections can now be presented in their full ranges. The Shadow Project sub-label has also gotten its own dedicated area defined by a blue-black steel floor which showcases one of the biggest Shadow Project selections of any Stone Island store. The opening of the much anticipated new Milan flagship store of Stone Island will be happening this Wednesday. The legendary Italian sports utility brand headed up by Carlo Rivetti has for a while now needed to move to a larger Milan location. Having remained in its original spot on Corso Venezia since the opening in Milan in 1999, one of the first Stone stores to ever have opened, and one of the 24 flagships Stone Island now has worldwide. The old location will be renovated and dedicated to selling the Stone Island childrens line, Stone Island Junior.

The new store will be located on Corso Giacomo Matteotti 18, just a stone's throw from the beginning of Via Montenapoleone. Boasting a store space of about 450 square meters spread across two levels making it the second biggest Stone Island store in the world right after the recently opened LA flagship. The store will be soft opening this Wednesday, May the 15th, and there's also whispers of an opening event in the works for a later date, the details of which are still under wraps.
