4 women have designed the new Nike Air Max Dia It's not just a bulky shoe, but a well-balanced mix of colors and volumes

In the history of cinema and music there are many trios of women who have been successful, from Charlie's Angels to Powerpuff Girls, but also quintets like the Spice Girls, or quartets like in Sex and the City tv series. Nike seems to have chosen this last type for his new project, entrusting the completion of a new model of sneaker to 4 women, a designer, an engineer, a developer and a product manager, professionally distant from each other but who were able to find the right balance, that is the main feature of the new Air Max Dia.

A perfect combination of design and function, balanced in the silhouette, despite the volumes are pushed to the maximum. A deconstructed translucent Nexkin upper and a very high sole characterized the sneaker. The Dia's elegant stack height is derived from the team's established goal for the shoe: to highlight the Air unit in the biggest way possible. The challenge, however, had to take into account also aesthetic requirements and not make the heel too bulky, which had to remain as elegant and feminine as possible. The four dots on the heel represent the four disciplines that brought the shoe to life, a reminder of the power of collaboration. An exercise in style and control of proportions, in an era in which the disproportion influences the designers' choices.

No big swoosh, it is inserted in small dimensions only on the heel and on the tip of the sneaker. There are many different colorways, both for the upper and for the Air unit, which is highlighted in relation to the rest of the sole. A white cream model with black details, but also one in totally white, one pink, another in white with black plastic parts and also a gray model with purple details. Technology and sophisticated design never seem to be optional for Nike.

Limited quantities of the Nike Air Max Dia will be available December 13 on the Nike App and at select retailers followed by a wider release January 25
