Andrew Gallimore by Rankin

The collaboration between Rankin and the visionary "beauty editor at large" Hunger comes the new book in the series Beauty: Andrew Gallimore by Rankin. Ever since he founded Dazed & Confused, in 1992, Andrew has never pulled back in front of the chance to experience and Rankin has captured with his camera every detail of daily life. After having worked in various ways for years, the two have recently joined forces to create a project of great visual impact, with new material shot exclusively for this beautiful hardcover book.

The work presents a striking series of portraits inspired by a wide variety of genres and subcultures. The actress Vicky McClure turns into Steve Strange of the period "Visage", while Jessie J is embellished with a "golden touch" and the model Ellen Burton helps us to trace the history of the British beauty icons through six make-up completely different that lead to take from time to time the features of characters like Adam Ant, Annie Lennox, Twiggy and Siouxsie Sioux.

In a different section of the book, the artist couple examines the concept of death masks, creating a series of celebratory images, full of flowers, chains and metal studs. The book also presents a story, drawing inspiration from the infrared images, shows that the idea of make-up is not necessarily the female form. For release on December 14th.
