After 559 days of a long wait last night the Rossoneri fans once again filled the stands of the San Siro. As they say, every coin has two sides, after documenting last week the return of the Inter cousins, now it is the turn of the Rossoneri who, on the wings of enthusiasm, yesterday locked Cagliari in a tactical cage from which the Sardinian team could not get out. Milan have won both of their first two Serie A games of the season since 2002/03-2003/04, when Carlo Ancelotti was in charge. Yesterday, Olivier Giroud and a tireless Sandro Tonali broke the islanders' defence in the first half, forcing them to chase the ball from the first minutes. Deiola's momentary equaliser was to no avail. Leao and his team-mates, supported by a great crowd, scored four goals in a first half of Serie A for the first time since November 2011, against Chievo.

Giacomo Cosua's images suggest the first steps towards normality. A normality desired and hoped for for too many months, a time in which Milan behaved splendidly inside the rectangle of play, gathering praise and applause despite the fact that their fans were not physically present at the stadium. Not a bad comeback for the fans, Milan coolly filed the game away in a few minutes, serving up an unforgettable poker at least for the spectators.
