Bitcoin has set a new record

The new year began as the old one ended for Bitcoin, which after exceeding 20 thousand dollars on December 16 started 2021 with a new positive trend. In fact, on Saturday, January 2 the cryptocurrency exceeded 30 thousand dollars, thus marking the absolute record of a path that began last October when Paypal launched a purchase service through cryptocurrency. 

Part of the charm of Bitcoin stems from its total independence from any financial institution which has allowed the currency to experience enormous changes in value over the years. For example, at the beginning of 2017, it had a value of less than 1000 dollars, while at the end of the same year it was worth 20 thousand dollars. 

An oscillation that at the end of 2018 had made the fortune of 50 Cent, the American rapper who in 2014 gave his fans the opportunity to pay for his Animal Ambition record in bitcoin but ended up forgetting about it. What was initially "only" 400 thousand dollars have become 8 million dollars over the years. A great example of the variable value of cryptocurrency.
