Spotify has turned AI into a personalized DJ

AI Playlist makes the music curation experience even faster

Spotify has turned AI into a personalized DJ AI Playlist makes the music curation experience even faster

We already know the infinite potential of AI, from creating hyper-realistic cinematic productions to providing emotional support for desperate singles, from making fortunes in the Caribbean islands to challenging Google's monopoly. Now, the music streaming platform Spotify has implemented a new feature on the app, capable of creating new playlists with just one click. Even before, AI DJs and daylists made the music curation experience technological, but with AI Playlist, it becomes a bit more creative. The first to use the new feature will be the United Kingdom and Australia; by updating the app on their device, users will simply need to type a prompt like "a playlist that makes me feel like the main character of a movie" to match the personalization of each individual to that of the AI. Creating the perfect playlist on Spotify requires a few quick steps. You can use suggestions that refer to places, animals, activities, movie characters, colors, and even emojis.

How to Use AI Playlist on Spotify

To find AI Playlist on Spotify, open the mobile app and select "Your Library" in the bottom right corner of the screen. From the Library, tap the "+" button in the top right corner of the app and select "AI Playlist". Choose one of the suggestions or write a new one (specificity is rewarded by the technology). Spotify will suggest some tracks that match the mood you're looking for. From there, you can easily manage the selection, remove some tracks or add new ones in preview. You can review and refine the generated playlists by telling AI Playlist what you're looking for (e.g., "more pop"). By tapping "Create", the new playlist will be automatically saved to the Library. In the launch statement of the new AI Playlist feature, Spotify clarifies that the novelty is still in beta, so it may not be able to produce accurate results for requests unrelated to music. Nevertheless, it's a unique way to discover new songs and have fun with artificial intelligence.
