The new Aratana sneaker by MCQ With a customizable modular midsole

"Novelty" is the main concept behind the MCQ Aratana. A concept that comes from design, born with functional modularity and the idea of ease of wear in mind, keeping the roots of the brand firmly in English youth culture, but also with the meaning of the name, "new" in Japanese.

Designed by Myles O'Meally and Slimane Cherif Khaldi, the Aratana extrapolate the idea of the impact of air and aerodynamics on the movement and shape of a sneaker. A study passed through the analysis of the relationship of air with various elements, such as the parachute and the sail, and ended with the creation of a multilayer structure in microfibre suede and mesh capable of giving the shoe a shape that combines the trend of sneakers more chunky with the comfort and quality of MCQ.

The concept of novelty is also present in the modular midsole, designed to be modified and updated with add-ons available later and able to transform the sneaker thus extending its life. In addition, an innovative material such as Bloom ™ was used to make the midsole, which transforms harmful algae creating an alternative to plastic.

The Aratana sneaker is stocked globally at retailers including Goat, Level Shoes, LUISAVIAROMA, Julian Fashion, Antonioli, Lncc, Nubian and Ssense.
