The new Converse x Carhartt WIP Renew capsule collection

Used Carhartt garment fabrics become unique sneakers

The new Converse x Carhartt WIP Renew capsule collection Used Carhartt garment fabrics become unique sneakers

Converse Renew is Converse's new initiative that addresses the challenge of creating products with materials made from the upcycling of industrial waste and second-hand clothes to develop new and more sustainable ways to create their own silhouettes. The collaboration between Converse and Carhartt WIP, renewed again this season, has employed textile materials made from Carhartt garments used to create its new range of Chuck 70.

Carhartt WIP's work jackets, trousers and overalls, recovered from vintage British retailer Beyond Retro, were organized according to the three colorways of navy, black and brown and transformed into the canvas panels of the Chuck 70. The result is that no sneaker is the same as another one. With the introduction of its Renew initiative, Convers and Carhartt WIP were able to prevent 108,000 textile products from ending up in a landfill.

The Converse x Carhartt WIP Renew collection will be available in a limited edition on the Converse website and on the Carhartt WIP website starting Thursday, May 28.
