The iconic Lacoste crocodile changes skin in three new collaborations

Three creative groups re-imagine the legendary French logo for the CROCOSERIES collection

The iconic Lacoste crocodile changes skin in three new collaborations Three creative groups re-imagine the legendary French logo for the CROCOSERIES collection

The fashion history is full of logos that over the years have consolidated their presence in the mass culture to become real symbols, both for the fashion enthusiasts and for the "occasional public".
This spring, the iconic crocodile by Lacoste (a brand nss magazine recently mentioned when talking about the renaissance of the sweater vest) comes to life and transforms itself thanks to the creative elaborations by three famous creative collectives: Lacoste has invited the artists FriendsWithYou, Jeremyville e Jean-Michel Tixier to re-interpret its legendary logo.

FriendsWithYou is a collaborative project run by the two artists Samuel Borkson e Arturo Sandoval III, who are based in Los Angeles and well-known all over the World for their immersive instalments and their inflatable sculptures. The artistic duo chose to send the Lacoste's crocodile into a dreamed and colourful world, opting for a minimal and maybe a little naïf design, where the sporting roots of the brand dress up with an unexpected kawaii style.

On the other hand, Jeremyville's style always took inspiration from the culture of comics and street art. For this challenge, the artist created an artistic and flamboyant jungle in which tennis and crocodiles get lost in a mischievous design. In this dark wood, there isn't any difference between animals and objects: tennis rackets and balls turn into adorable little animals living in a world that is abstract and surreal.

Finally, French illustrator Jean-Michel Tixier imagined a different crocodile, inspired to himself and to people who surround him. The crocodile suddenly becomes "Parisian": an anthropomorphic animal that wears the shoes of a stylish hipster, a high-class Parisian daddy, a running-late trader, a dandy or a teenager with a strong passion for streetwear. It's a sweet homage for every Lacoste fans, whether it is their social background.

These artists are famous for their optimistic graphics and their positive look on the world: that's why the collections they designed are colourful and fresh. The great classics from Lacoste so become reinvented with a new, happy style that looks forward to the contemporary while it never cuts the cord with its traditional roots. The same roots that have made the crocodile such an iconic and loved symbol all over the World.

The items from these collaborations will be available from March 18th, 2020 on the e-shop and in every Lacoste store.
