Veuve Clicquot celebrates the joy of sunshine at Milan Design Week 2026 with “Chasing the Sun” An immersive installation and a limited-edition collection created by artist Yinka Ilori: a vibrant world of bold colors and joyful patterns, infused with the Maison’s unmistakable energy.
Veuve Clicquot returns as a protagonist at the Milan Design Week 2026 with a project that combines art de vivre, design and conviviality under the sign of the sun. From 21 to 26 April 2026, the Maison presents Chasing the Sun, an exclusive collaboration with the British-Nigerian artist and designer Yinka Ilori MBE, nicknamed “Architect of Joy”. The initiative transforms the space of the Mediateca Santa Teresa, in Via della Moscova 28 in Milan, into an immersive installation and a temporary café, celebrating joy, optimism and light through a bold and colourful visual universe.
The idea behind the project is to unite the world of Veuve Clicquot with Ilori’s creative universe made of solar colours, graphic patterns and sculptural forms that invite the public to immerse themselves in an experience of joy and creativity. Next to the installation opens the Clicquot Café, where you can savor the Maison’s art de vivre with the Yellow Label and Rosé cuvées paired with an all-day menu. The complete collection will be on sale directly at the Clicquot Boutique in Via della Moscova 28 for the entire week.
For over two centuries Veuve Clicquot has embodied the spirit of the sun with its iconic Clicquot Yellow, a colour that has featured on the labels since 1877. The Chasing the Sun theme takes up this identity and projects it into the present through Yinka Ilori’s poetics. The artist, famous for his visual language of intense and luminous colours, inspired by his Nigerian roots and British culture, has created an ode to the warmth that unites people, to the light that heals and to the joy that is born from every shared gesture. The gourd, a symbol of harvest and care, represents the philosophy “you reap what you sow”, perfectly in line with Veuve Clicquot’s spirit of dreaming big.
For the collection, the artist has reinterpreted some classic Maison accessories in a contemporary and sustainable key, creating a series of luminous, functional gifts designed to last over time. Among these stands out the Sun Holder, a nomadic reinterpretation of the champagne bucket inspired by the shape of the gourd, decorated with a motif of hands holding the sun and made with recycled materials through an innovative 3D knitting technology.
There are also the Sun Totems that reinterpret the gourd as a portable drinking vessel: also made with recycled materials and 3D knitting technology, they turn joyful moments into true rituals of sharing. The iconic Clicquot Arrow, the arrow-shaped gift packaging inspired by road signs, is reinvented with three new vibrant patterns created by Ilori, each capable of indicating the distance between the chosen destination and Veuve Clicquot’s cellars in Reims.
Completing the offer are small accessories, including a bottle stopper decorated with the sun motif and four coloured charms with messages of joy and optimism, made with grape-derived material and perfect for giving as gifts or collecting. Every piece in the collection is designed to accompany Veuve Clicquot cuvées and to celebrate through design the commitment to excellence and the drive towards creativity that have always been at the heart of the Maison’s philosophy.
After the Milan presentation, the Chasing the Sun collection will be distributed worldwide. The project takes Veuve Clicquot’s commitment to supporting and collaborating comprehensively with the world of contemporary creativity to new levels, and brings its message of optimism and innovation into dialogue with the highest cultural spheres, just as Madame Clicquot did more than two centuries ago.
