David Lynch signed an installation for the Salone del Mobile The new edition of the world's largest furniture fair promises to be a success

The Salone del Mobile in Milan attracts visitors from every corner of the planet. The world's most important furniture fair, last spring, saw the participation of over 300,000 people, an increase of +15% compared to the previous year. For its 62nd edition, which will take place from April 16th to 21st, two pavilions at the Rho Fiera spaces will host nothing less than an installation by David Lynch. Entitled Interiors by David Lynch. A Thinking Room, the work of the director offers a reflection on interior design production. For the realization of the project, Lynch worked together with collaborator and friend Antonio Monda, the former artistic director of the Rome Film Festival, who announced the nature of the partnership during a press conference this Tuesday, emphasizing that the director has been producing furniture for over twenty years. Preparing the public for this new initiative by Lynch, Monda added that a key element of the work will undoubtedly be a blue velvet curtain, a direct reference to Blue Velvet. A proponent of a «mysterious and disturbing» reality, as stated by the president of the Salone del Mobile, Maria Porro, Lynch has been chosen as one of the new central figures of the event thanks to his ability to take the viewer's imagination on a journey.

50 square meters have been set up according to Lynch's stylistic codes, with the support of the Milanese studio Lombardini22, which designed the entire layout of the fair. This year, the Salone del Mobile will have a new look, built according to an open space theory to enhance visitors' experience. If the new project by the director of Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks has the same impact as the Silencio club in Paris, designed by Lynch for artists, we are certain that his participation in the Salone del Mobile will not disappoint.
