NikeLab x Riccardo Tisci Training Redefined

Givenchy's creative director collaborates again with NikeLab to celebrate Summer of Sport, and this time the collection is not only about sneakers but extends to apparel.

Riccardo Tisci has announced the third chapter of his collaboration with Nike by posting a preview of the new NikeLab x RT collection on Instagram, combining his creative vision with the constant search for innovative materials of the American giant.

The collection, inspired by the athletes who train for the most awaited competition of the summer, is characterised by Nike performance technologies like Dri-FIT and Flyknit, and provides new solutions for performance such as the NikeLab Kaleidoscope Dri-FIT 2 -in-1 Short x RT, a leggings combined with shorts that presents only one seam.

Jatterr Reynolds - NikeLab Senior Design Director - said "this collection represents a completely new way of thinking for Riccardo. It was designed for performance, which is uncharted territory for him. But that's the beauty of the collaboration: we can introduce Riccardo to the world of sport performance, which is our expertise. On the other hand, Riccardo’s vision take our design to a level at which we would not reach alone".

The collection will be distributed in two capsule collections with a completely different aesthetic: the first is black and white while the second is characterised by new and bold floral and kaleidoscopic prints which create a geometric contour - the floral print includes flowers from Oregon, Nike’s headquarters; Taranto, Tisci's birthplace; and Rio de Janeiro, home of the Olympic Games this year.
