Comeback and evolution of an icon

Nike Air Max BW OG & Air Max BW Ultra Comeback and evolution of an icon

Originally launched in 1991, the Air Max Classic BW is characterized by an anatomical PU midsole, maximum volume offered by the Air-Sole and a leather and synthetic upper. BW stands for Big Window, because of the larger window on Air than the Air Max 90.

After having become a must in the States for long-distance runners and at the same time also one of the most popular accessories of R&B stars, the Classic BW is now rooted in the hip-hop and rave scene in Europe.

Although this model has been launched in different colors over the years, the OG Persian Violet color is certainly the most iconic. After seeing the release of the Air Max Plus, Air Max 93 and Air Max 95 in Persian Violet color, Nike is ready to re-launch on the market the Air Max BW OG.

2016 marks in fact the 25th anniversary of the Air Max Classic BW and Nike decided to celebrate the event by launching again on the market the OG Persian Violet, along with other colors of the new Air Max Classic BW Ultra. The latter sees the weight of the shoes reduced thanks to the CORED sole and midsole, combined with a light and breathable uppers made of two-tone mesh.

The colors of the Air Max Classic BW Ultra available for this Spring/Summer 2016 will be four: University Red/White, Black/Anthracite, Navy/White, and Mint/White.

The Air Max Classic BW OG will be launched on March 8, while the Air Max Classic BW Ultra will be available from March 3 on Nike's website and in selected retailers worldwide.
