Miu Miu's Bubble Shoes are back The iconic '90s style has been reimagined with a lighter, more functional design

Fashion continues to look to past trends, bringing back silhouettes and aesthetic codes that once seemed to belong to another era. Miu Miu is also revisiting its own heritage with the Bubble Shoes, a style born in the late '90s that returns today in a completely updated version. Just as the sneaker was created during a time when sportswear was redefining the way people dressed, today hybrid footwear continues to lead footwear trends, in luxury as well as in street style. 

The style is defined by its rounded sole and lightweight construction, designed to combine functionality and design. Today, that same silhouette is being revived while maintaining an aesthetic connection to the original, albeit adapted to contemporary needs. The new Bubble Shoe retains the proportions of the archival model, but introduces a softer, deconstructed construction. The upper is crafted in leather and suede, with light padding that makes the fit even more comfortable. The sole, the model's most recognizable element, has also been reimagined through innovative technology that makes it lighter than the original version, while the new layered design introduces more fluid lines and an interplay of transparent and matte surfaces that adds depth.

First unveiled at the Miu Miu FW26 show in Paris, the Bubble Shoe will also be available in a special technical nylon version embellished with jewel embroidery, a detail that reflects the maison's approach to combining sportswear elements with couture craftsmanship. More than a revival exercise, the return of the Bubble Shoe confirms the way Miu Miu is working with its own archive: retrieving iconic styles, updating their construction, and placing them within a contemporary context. A direction that continues to define the brand's identity, poised between innovation and the celebration of its heritage.
