After four years Ye returns to the runway with Yeezy Season 01 The show to celebrate the opening of his first physical store in LA

Ye has announced that on November 4 he will return to the runway with Yeezy. The show will mark the occasion of the opening of the brand's first physical retail location, situated in Los Angeles at 4317 Beverly Boulevard.
After the debut collection, presented in 2015, and years of collaboration with adidas — cemented by the extraordinary success of his sneakers — Yeezy went through a deep crisis beginning in 2022, following an off-calendar show held in Paris. On that occasion, models walked the runway wearing T-shirts bearing the slogan «White Lives Matter» — a provocative statement in opposition to Black Lives Matter, the movement founded to denounce systemic racism and police violence in America. That same month, antisemitic remarks made by Ye triggered a chain of consequences that led adidas — with whom the rapper had established a multibillion-dollar partnership — to permanently sever ties. The fallout had a ripple effect, drawing in Balenciaga, Gap, and talent agency CAA, all of which chose to distance themselves from the artist.
The scandals did not stop in the years that followed: from his controversial relationship with Bianca Censori to allegations of harassment brought by a former assistant, along with copyright disputes, cancelled concerts in the United Kingdom due to visa revocation, and shows banned in Italy and Russia. In short, Ye has certainly not disappeared from the spotlight, but his media presence has been accompanied predominantly by negative associations — despite his attempts to apologize for past behavior, attributing some of his actions to the bipolar disorder he has spoken about publicly.
Could the newly announced show represent a fresh start for the brand and an opportunity to begin again, leaving behind the controversies that have defined its recent years? A first sign of Yeezy's revival in the world of fashion has already arrived with the return of its footwear to physical stores, thanks to a distribution agreement with JD Sports. Starting in August, the retailer began selling Yeezy sneakers — left in warehouses following the end of the adidas partnership — both in its stores and online.
What remains to be seen is whether, even if he manages to relaunch Yeezy, Ye will be able to contend with a market that is profoundly different from the one that existed a few years ago. From 2022 to today, trends have shifted, consumer tastes have evolved, and fashion's very aesthetic reference points have changed. Yeezys, once ubiquitous and coveted, are today almost invisible, as is the style that once made the brand instantly recognizable. Ye's fanbase may also have changed, particularly in light of the controversies of recent years. The challenge, therefore, will not simply be rebuilding the brand's image and ensuring its renewed availability on the market, but above all determining whether a loyal audience still exists — one willing to identify with its values and its aesthetic.
