Etro's new Vela Blossom bag A new model in the Vela line, but with an entirely new texture
Etro has introduced a new bag for its Pre-Fall 2026 collection, the Vela Blossom, an evolution of the Vela Bag that brings targeted updates to its structure, materials, and details while preserving the original model’s aesthetic. From a design perspective, the Vela Blossom retains the signature “V” silhouette and the closure system that define the line. The main innovation, however, lies in its construction: the bag has been developed with a softer and more flexible structure, achieved through the use of less rigid leathers and manufacturing techniques that reduce surface tension. This intervention impacts both the visual appearance and functionality, making the model lighter and more suitable for everyday use.
A significant update also affects the decorative and functional elements. The metal zipper is covered in leather, as is the medallion featuring the Pegasus, which reduces its metallic component in favor of a finish that is more integrated with the body of the bag. The traditional “coin” is reinterpreted as a leather disk with an embossed logo, introducing a solution consistent with the new material approach and reducing the contrast between hardware and the main structure. As for materials, the Vela Blossom emphasizes soft and flexible textures. Nappa leather is one of the main options and is offered in black, ivory, and plum, with a smooth and uniform surface. Suede, available in dark brown and sand variations, provides a more matte and textured appearance. Completing the selection is a shaded leather version, characterized by gradual color transitions that recall natural tones and add a more dynamic visual element.
From an ergonomic standpoint, the increased flexibility of the materials also impacts wearability: the handle and body of the bag are more adaptable, allowing for a less rigid fit compared to the previous version. This makes the model suitable for different usage contexts, both formal and everyday.
