Venezia's Serie A told through a photo book In UNIONE, photographer Eric Scaggiante captured the passion of fans from a different perspective

"When our club approached the 2021/22 championship, the season that marked Venezia FC's return to Serie A after a 19-year absence, we wanted to document this historic moment, and with it the city and the way it would experience it". With these words today Ted Philipakos, Chief Brand Officer of Venezia, announced the second book of the orange, black and green club. Through the amazing photos of Eric Scaggiante, 'UNIONE' aims to tell the story of Venezia's return to the top flight from a different perspective, from the stands of the Stadio Penzo where the local photographer spent the 2021/22 season immortalising the cheering and passion of the lagoon fans.

"UNIONE" is nothing more than the continuation of the book published last year, when Venezia FC decided to publish a two-part book with a collection of photos taken by Ethan White. A book where in the first 96 pages the photographer had immortalised the team in all its moments, photographing it in its natural environment, from the playing field to the locker room, capturing all the moments of a season that for obvious reasons will be impossible to forget. In the second part, Ethan White focused instead on the city, shooting the city in all its beauty and complexity, capturing life in the Venetian lagoon in a series of street photography. One season later, Eric Scaggiante has taken over from the American photographer, capturing a season that has remained in history, despite relegation, as the lagoon players had been missing in the top flight for almost 20 years.
