Louis Vuitton produced the trophy case for the Monaco Grand Prix

Formula 1 joins NBA and FIFA of a sports classic from the French maison

Louis Vuitton produced the trophy case for the Monaco Grand Prix Formula 1 joins NBA and FIFA of a sports classic from the French maison

The list of trophy cases designed and created by Louis Vuitton is not very long and has top level partners: the NBA, FIFA, the America's Cup, Roland Garros, even League of Legends. The latest to enter a small circle is Formula One, by definition the Circus of the rich lovers of luxury and the thrill of speed. The partnership between the French maison and the Automobile Club de Monaco could not have chosen a better location to be presented: the Monte Carlo Grand Prix has always had a unique and unrepeatable charm, just like the trophy houses that come out of the Asnières workshops.

"At almost 300 km/h between the rails, it’s the Formula One Grand Prix that all drivers aspire to win one day" commented Michael Burke, president and CEO of Louis Vuitton, in the brand's official note. As for the other projects, the trunk that will be on the podium in Monte Carlo will also be handcrafted in the historic workshops on the outskirts of Paris by the maison's specialized artisans who will engrave the brand's monogram in red on the canvas, like the color of the F1 logo. Of course, there will also be a chromatic homage to the Monegasque flag, with two red and white bands on the doors of the trophy case.

We just have to wait until May 23, when the trophy and its trunk will be handed over to those who will whiz faster in the 19 sinuous curves of the most fascinating track of all. Even if the glamor will be less than in the other editions because the grandstand will be reduced to 40%, from the yachts there will be the usual eyes on Lewis Hamilton - latest winner in 2019 - and Charles Leclerc, home driver.
