Barack Obama's Nike Hyperdunks will be up for auction at Sotheby's They could be yours for $25,000
An undisputed style icon, Barack Obama was the only President of the United States to have his own personal model of Nike. The Nike Hypedunks could become yours thanks to the Sotheby's auction which will sell one of only two existing models through The Sneaker Shop, the platform created by the auction house to sell sneakers and other objects from the streetwear world.

The sneaker, a sample created by Nike before the model donated to Barack Obama, will be available starting February 12 with the Buy Now option at a price of $25.000, thus becoming the first major release launched online by Sotheby's. The Nike Hypedunks will be released on President's Day Weekend at 4:44 p.m. in honour of the 44th President of the United States.

Launched in 2008, the Hypedunk became famous thanks to Kobe Bryant. The same year Nike launched a colourway renamed United We Rise dedicated to the Beijing Summer Olympics and worn by the American basketball team. In addition to the number 44 embroidered on the sneakers, in the version made for Barack Obama we also find the Presidential Seal on the front tongue and some graphic inserts on the inner part. The size put up for auction will be a 12.5 US in perfect condition.
