The Milan Design Week 2019 Map From April 9th to 14 th

From April 9 to 14 Milan will be invaded by a great number of events, installations, exhibitions and parties: it's time for the Design Week. The focus on interior design, furniture and decoration are at the heart of Salone del Mobile, the spirit of which replicates around the city with the Fuorisalone, that spreads in almost every neighbourhood of Milan, from Tortona, Brera and Isola, to Lambrate, Porta Venezia and Sant'Ambrogio. 

Over the course of the years, MDW has become one of the most appreciated and crowded events of the city, an initiative that managed to attract an audience with different backgrounds, age and interests. The strength of the Design Week lies in its 'democratic' and 'inclusive' nature: unlike Fashion Week, for example, the week dedicated to design doesn't take place in exclusive and restricted places, that prevent many people who were truly interested from participating. Fuori Salone has always been synonym with interesting installation to see around the city, exhibitions to explore and drinks to taste on the rooftops of Milan.

• Tod's No_Code Shelter: Stories Of Contemporary Life
  An installation by Andrea Caputo Studio that explores the constant evolution of the contemporary lifestyle.

• SAVE THE DUCK: Ocean Is My Home 
  An in-store initiative dedicated to the collection produced in Nety: a special fabric made in 100% recycled nylon econyl®, obtained by the regeneration of fishing nets.

• BURBERRY Installation 
  Taking inspiration from the first Riccardo Tisci's collection, characterized by images and prints of a ceramic fawn, the store will host a two-meter sculpture wrapped in adhesive tape on the ground floor.

• Spazio Maiocchi
  On the occasion of the Design Week, Spazio Maiocchi has prepared three projects aimed at reflecting the unique mix of art, fashion and design, in collaboration with Rimowa x Kaleidoscope, Google and Artifact.

• Raf Simons & Kvadrat "No Man's Land" 
  The installation presents a series of prefabricated buildings designed by Jean Prouvé, used to host the Simons' work-in- progress collection, with the aim of encouraging visitors to experiment with fabrics through workshops.
