Thibaut Grevet presents "Ballet" at Dover Street Market from April 18 to 25 His second book focuses on the dancers of the New York City Ballet

The latest adidas Superstar campaign with Kendall Jenner? Him. Maison Margiela’s return to school for the Spring-Summer 26 collection? Also him. The visual world of BYREDO? Him again. While his brand collaborations are numerous, photographer and director Thibaut Grevet simultaneously develops projects for major cultural institutions. His latest: a series of photographs and videos captured within the New York City Ballet in the fall of 2024. This work gets up close with the dancers and their bodies, both on the floor and during brief moments of rest.

Grevet’s sense of rhythm stems primarily from his passion for movement. Far from trying to capture it mid-flight, his approach is not documentary; it sits somewhere between tangible reality and reverie. Obsessed with the body, he seeks to blend it into its environment. Blur -the title of his first book- remains one of his artistic signatures.

On his Instagram account, he shared that he learned 3D techniques specifically for this project: "When the New York City Ballet team spoke about this performance idea, it triggered a process in my mind: the preparation, the rehearsal, and then that quiet pause just before the storm. » Captured in just a few days, the project required months of work and the mastery of a new technical skill-proof that the photographer and director, already wearing two hats, continues to explore new horizons.

After debuting the book in New York last January, he is now bringing the series to Paris. In addition to the 1,000 copies of the book Ballet available at Dover Street Market starting Saturday, April 18, the venue will host an exhibition in the courtyard of 35-37 rue des Francs Bourgeois. This fashion and culture landmark will also host a book signing session on Friday evening, offering a special opportunity to meet the artist and leave with a signed copy.

Launch Party & Signing: Friday, April 17, starting at 7:30 PM at Dover Street Market. Exhibition Dates: Open from Saturday, April 18, to Sunday, April 25.
