Roots along the Thames at Mithridate FW26 Daniel Fletcher tells the story of the brand’s arrival in London

Autumn Winter 2026 marks a decisive chapter for Mithridate. Staged at Tate Britain, Daniel Fletcher’s third runway collection for the brand is less about spectacle and more about arrival, about finding a sense of place and confidence in a new home.
The relationship with London
«Being in London for Fashion Week feels like a continuation of a journey», Fletcher explains. The city’s individuality and experimental spirit allow him to explore the language of Mithridate in a confident way, proving how heritage and contemporary influences can coexist as the brand settles into Borough. For Fletcher, the venue carried emotional weight. «Showing at Tate Britain felt like the right place to mark this chapter». Its quiet grandeur mirrored the story he wanted to tell. At the centre of the show space stood a wisteria installation, echoing motifs throughout the collection. «The wisteria symbolised roots taking hold» he says, framing the collection as a metaphor for establishment and growth.
The balance of AW26
«This collection has been about growth and laying the foundations for something special at Mithridate». Inspired by the Thames, the local markets and the rhythms of Borough, Fletcher revisits house codes through the lens of Savile Row, but in a relaxed, undone way. British tailoring meets layered knitwear, broad shouldered tweed coats sit over sharp suiting, and eveningwear is deconstructed into mini two piece dresses worn under duffle coats. «I wanted to create a balance between structure and ease», Fletcher notes. Knitwear and appliqué add texture, hand beading introduces movement, and the silhouettes reflect a personal approach that also «resonates with how the industry is embracing individuality and hybrid influences».
Crossing through the contemporary
Ultimately, Mithridate’s interpretation of contemporary times lies in «combining references from different histories and geographies into a coherent wardrobe for today». The message of AW26 is direct. «It’s about growth, arrival, and laying roots». With confidence and a clear sense of place, the brand stands ready to bloom.
