Trussardi has lost its creative directors

Trussardi has lost its creative directors Serhat Işık and Benjamin A. Huseby leave the brand after only two years

Serhat Işık and Benjamin A. Huseby, the two founders of GmbH, have reportedly exited Trussardi for good amid a stormy situation that has seen the brand's entire board of directors leave, a new company come in to restore the company to profitability, layoffs for employees, and a 50-million-euro debt that could sink the brand. At the moment, no comment has come from those directly involved. However, the affair is not expected to result in bankruptcy since, according to WWD, the company 3X Capital is restructuring the brand for a potential sale in which three different buyers would be interested, about which little or nothing is known at the moment.

The news causes displeasure since Işık and Huseby are two of the most interesting new voices in European fashion design, and they had been able to effectively reinterpret the heritage of a historic brand that needed a new and more contemporary language. The brand's last collection, in particular, presented in the showroom during the last Milan Fashion Week and not with a show, had been very good. Now the two will return to focus on the brand that gave them notoriety and success, GmbH, also presented through a lookbook earlier this month during Paris Fashion Week.
