From the love of Calvin Klein for Andy Warhol borns the "Kiss" Collection
A capsule collection dedicated to the 1963 eponymy provocative short film of the pop artist
February 6th, 2018
In November 2017 Calvin Klein kicked off one multi-year partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, the foundation created in 1987 by pop art guru to support contemporary art. The brand currently under the creative direction of Raf Simons is committed to supporting it and, in exchange, until 2020 will have access to all the artist's works.
The first project born from this collaboration is the capsule collection of CK Underwear Kiss.
The 90s cult brand pays homage to the 1963 film of the same name, one of Warhol's first film experiments, in which 12 couples, hetero, gay and of different ethnic groups (a mix of characters from the counterculture and the Warhol factory, including Gerard Malanga and Baby Jane Holzer), they kissed for 3 and a half minutes each, sparking scandalized reactions throughout the Hollywood establishment that at that time prohibited real kiss scenes lasting more than three seconds. From Gerard Malanga to Baby Jane Holzer the creatures "produced" in and from the factory of Andy Warhol are the protagonists together with the characters of the counterculture of the era of the close-ups of the film provocation of a generation.
Those black and white frames of kisses are the protagonists of the new CK capsule, enclosed in a single box embossed on t-shirts, tank tops, briefs and boxers for men, bralette and briefs for women in white cotton.
The Kiss Collection is already on sale from Monday 5 February, with prices ranging from $ 32 to $ 45.
A perfect gift for Valentine's Day.
