Apple will broadcast MLS matches for the next 10 years After the agreement with Nike, Apple TV is increasingly entering the world of sport

After closing the deal with Nike for a series of films that will inspire the next generation of athletes and celebrate the power of sport, capitalising on the popularity surrounding sports rights and the rise of sports-centred shows, documentaries and films, Apple Tv has bought all the rights to the MLS. This is a very important deal, as by doing so, the American league will become the first to cede all rights to a digital media outlet.

"For the first time in sports history, fans will be able to access a major professional sports league in one place," said Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of services. "It's a dream come true for MLS fans, football fans and anyone who loves sports. No fragmentation, no frustration - just the flexibility to sign up for a convenient service that gives you the entire MLS, wherever and whenever you want to watch. We look forward to making it easy for even more people to fall in love with MLS and cheer on their favourite club."

Watching MLS matches will be very simple, the service will live within the Apple Tv app and will also include matches previously broadcast by the Californian giant on ESPN, Fox and Univision. In addition to MLS, the recently expanded League Cup with all MLS and Liga MX clubs will also be included in the package. While the four-part Magic Johnson docuseries, They Call Me Magic, and Greatness Code, as well as an F1 film starring Brad Pitt, are already available on the platform, Apple TV has already scored another major coup, continuing its expansion into the world of sports.
