The new Wilson x KITH collection for the US Open 2021

The heritage of the Chicago brand meets the aesthetics of Queens

The new Wilson x KITH collection for the US Open 2021 The heritage of the Chicago brand meets the aesthetics of Queens

The US Open is entering the crucial phase, with Berrettini, Sinner, Musetti and Seppi having already made it through the first round. For the fourth and last of the Grand Slam tournaments, a historic tennis brand like Wilson has chosen KITH as a partner to launch one of the most aesthetically pleasing collections of the tennis season. Wilson chooses Ronnie Fieg's brand also for a territorial question: among the fifteen fields that host the tournament, there is obviously the Arthur Ashe Stadium, a masterpiece of sports architecture located in Queens, the operational base of KITH since the years of its foundation.

The lifestyle collection consists of 160 models inspired by the heritage of Wilson - one of the oldest brands in the world of tennis - and perfectly mixes the style of KITH and the elegance that the Chicago sportswear brand has always brought to the court - grass, clay or concrete. The line dedicated to men consists of 77 models ranging from technical clothing to off-the-court outfits, with accessories and sports equipment that echo Wilson's iconic shades such as kaki, green and navy blue. The items that stand out the most is a bag with integrated leather racket holder that gives the collection a vintage touch of absolute level.

The section dedicated to women, on the other hand, contains 27 items designed for the pitch and for moments off the pitch. Again, the lookbook shows the traditional navy-burgundy color pairing on clothing ranging from cardigans to play skirts, visors to polo shirts and racing suits to Windsor-style sweaters. Many items, especially the technical ones, show the classic elastic band with the KITH logo as the only modern element of the collection. To complete the collection, 37 accessories were also created such as headbands, cuffs, balls, towels, socks, a bottle created in collaboration with Corkcicle and the iconic Wilson Pro Staff 97 Racquet.

The collaboration between Wilson and KITH did not end in the creation of a collection and in the production of a lookbook, but came out of the classic canons of sport-fashion collabo. The deep bond between Ronnie Fieg and Queens led the two brands to renovate and refurbish a tennis court at the Ella Fitzgerald Playground of Kissena Corridor Park in Queens, whose surface was created by recycling ball scraps in compliance with sustainable policies. of the two brands.

The collection will be available from 3 September in the KITH stores and at Kith.com.
